Opening of EDF2014 - First Press Release

The 2014 European Data Forum, an annual event focusing on Europe’s Data Economy is taking place in Athens, Greece. More than 700 industry leaders, researchers, and policy makers, are meeting to discuss the challenges and opportunities of data-driven innovation. With expert speakers in two parallel tracks, an executive panel on Big Data, several networking sessions, a poster session, a 2-days exhibition area, the awarding of the European Data Innovator Award 2014 and 5 specialised collocated events, EDF2014 is the greatest ever assembly of data experts in the EU.

Final information and preparation for EDF2014

The European Data Forum 2014 in Athens will start in about 24 hours from now. The final preparations are taking place and participants are starting their travel from all over Europe to the capital of Greece to discuss the challenges, potentials and solutions for Open Data, Linked Data and Big Data the coming two days at the Royal Olympic Hotel in Athens!

European Data Innovator Award 2014 goes to Johann Mittheisz, former CIO of the City of Vienna & the Open Government Team of Vienna

Johann Mittheisz, former CIO of the City of Vienna, wins European Data Innovator Award (EDI Award) 2014 for his outstanding visions and activities in the area of open government and open data in the City of Vienna, in Austria as well as in the D-A-CH region and above.

Call for Expressions of Interest to host EDF2015 in Latvia or Luxembourg

The European Data Forum, is a meeting place for industry, research, policymakers and community initiatives to discuss the challenges of the emerging Data Economy (Linked Open Data, Big Data, business models, etc.). The European Data Forum Steering Committee solicits Expressions of Interest (EoI) to act as local host/organizer of the European Data Forum in 2015.
