The European Data Forum 2014 in Athens will start in about 24 hours from now. The final preparations are taking place and participants are starting their travel from all over Europe to the capital of Greece to discuss the challenges, potentials and solutions for Open Data, Linked Data and Big Data the coming two days at the Royal Olympic Hotel in Athens!

A few highlights of EDF2014

• Opening & Welcome by Neelie Kroes, Vice President of the European Commission, in charge of the Digital Agenda.
• Presentation of the European Data Innovator Award to Johann Mittheisz, Former CIO of the City of Vienna, Austria: Day 1 (19.03.2014) from 10.00 to 10.30am in the Main Conference Room.
• Keynote talks about (big) data issues by representatives of the European Commission, Greek Government, Research Institutes, Companies with expertise in the field, and many more.
• PPP on Data & Executive Panel on Big Data with six outstanding speakers: Day 2 (20.03.2014) from 09.15 to 10.45am in the Main Conference Room.
• Exhibition Space with 29 selected exhibitors: Throughout the whole duration of the EDF (19.03 & 20.03.2014).
• Poster Session with around 25 presented posters (projects, tools, products and services): Day 1 (19.03.2014) from 18:30 to 20:00pm in the Main Conference Room.
• Two days of high level presentations, discussions, intense networking, possibilities and knowledge exchange with more then 60 speakers, 2 panels, and 400+ participants.
