Open Knowledge Foundation, Greece Chapter invites you to Meet Up in Athens! On Tuesday evening, 18 March 2014, just before the European Data Forum 2014 opens its doors, all friends of Open Knowledge are invited to Meet Up! The Open Knowledge Foundation, an international leader in its field, has extensive experience in building tools and the community around open material and aims to see it used and useful.

Meetup: open-source storage with Ceph

Want to learn how to build massively scalable and software-defined storage that runs on commodity hardware and is open source? Then join Inktank and the Greek Ceph community for a free Meetup the night before EDF starts. Steve Starbuck of Inktank will introduce Ceph. Vangelis Koukis, Synnefo Technical Lead, GRNET, will present how Ceph is being used to back GRNET's large-scale, production, public cloud service called "~okeanos". There will be plenty of time for discussions and questions.

Linked Data Europe: Tools and Application Workshop (Official Site)

Linked Data for Language Technology (LD4LT) (Official Site)

Linked Data has proven beneficial in many new and unforeseen ways for Language Technology and the newly gained interoperability and availability of Language Technology data and services is currently receiving industry adoption. The objective of this meeting is to start the discussion and analyse current trends as well as offer a crystallization point to coordinate the development of future Linked Data-based Language Technology applications.

European Data Forum Co-Workshop:
"Pioneers in data-driven innovation – visions & solutions from EU Member States"

The workshop “Pioneers in data-driven innovation“ shall serve as an opportunity to exchange and discuss on-going or planned initiatives on generating value out of data by EU Member States and the European Commission. A number of Member States already have dedicated strategies on data-driven innovation, including opening up more government-held data, fostering the development of skilled labour, and fund research & innovation in this domain. With this workshop we would like to provide the opportunity for networking between government representatives and show best practice cases for national initiatives.This workshop is organized by the European Commission and the German Ministry of Economics and Energy with the kind support of the Greek government.
